Alpha Ministries Canada, a national Christian non-profit organization, is looking for a Financial Officer to join a passionate team that values faith, hope and precision in our spreadsheets. Requirements
We’re looking for someone with a background in finance, or accounting—bonus points if you’re working toward your CPA! If you have experience in fund accounting or not-for-profit accounting, that’s definitely a plus. We need someone who’s detail-oriented, great at managing their time, and has exceptional administrative skills.
You should be comfortable talking to people at all levels of the organization and have a good grasp of basic accounting principles. Being skilled with software, especially accounting programs, will really help you shine in this role. Responsibilities (what you get to do):
- Prepare departmental & program reports,
- Be an essential connection between staff, vendors and donors
- AR/AP processing
- Be apart of a full accounting cycle
- Opportunities for greater responsibility with proven track record
- Administrate parts of the budgeting process through our accounting software
- Year end and audit preparation duties
- Maintenance of financial records and responsible for accurate processing
- Train and support staff and external stakeholders with their finance and accounting inquiries
- System innovation and testing
Compensation:
Salary is competitive within the nonprofit sector ($45k – $55k) of our size, and commensurate with experience. Benefits package included.
