(May 29, 2025) This month, we’re excited to welcome Golden Faber, a pastor at Richmond Pentecostal Church, who shares her experience running Alpha in Mandarin. Golden has seen firsthand how Alpha creates space for meaningful conversations about life, faith, and Jesus within the Chinese-speaking community, and she offers practical insights for engaging culturally and linguistically diverse groups.
If you’d like to run Alpha in a Chinese Context, here are some tips to help you get started:
1) Visit our Alpha in a Chinese Context webpage.
2) Check out the Alpha Film Series options you can share with your Chinese neighbours. If you are unsure, the Chinese Alpha Film Series (CAFS), which is produced for adults of all ages and features both Mandarin and Cantonese options, as well as English subtitles, is a good place to start.
3) Identify leaders and volunteers who can help. Train them and empower them to run Alpha using the training videos we provide.
